The Tempest VS1.3D Battery-Powered Fan is a compact positive pressure ventilation (PPV) fan designed for fireground smoke removal, interior ventilation, and confined-space airflow. Powered by removable high-capacity batteries with shore power capability, it supports flexible deployment across fire, rescue, and training environments.

Battery-powered ventilation fans are commonly used by fire departments for smoke removal and air movement where gas-powered equipment may be limited or impractical. The VS1.3D is designed to provide consistent airflow performance while allowing cordless operation or continuous use when connected to shore power.

Its compact frame supports deployment in tight access points, residential structures, and apparatus storage compartments.

Airflow Performance and Output

The VS1.3D delivers up to 9,614 CFM (AMCA certified) using a composite impeller and tapered steel shroud. This airflow design is intended to support effective positive pressure ventilation during interior fire operations and overhaul.

The integrated thin-vane air straightener grill helps direct airflow into a focused path for improved smoke movement.

Battery System and Runtime

The fan operates using DEWALT 60V battery systems, supporting one to three batteries depending on configuration. A typical setup allows approximately 40 minutes of runtime at full speed, with additional runtime available through battery swapping.

A dynamic battery control system manages charging, discharge, and diagnostic monitoring to support consistent performance.

Shore Power Capability
